Best Price Tracker Apps 2026: Free Options Compared

CamelCamelCamel vs Honey vs BestPriceFinder vs Keepa. Which is actually worth using?

CamelCamelCamel vs Honey vs Keepa vs BestPriceFinder: Honest Comparison

Price tracking tools have existed for over a decade. The landscape has changed significantly - some tools have gotten worse after acquisitions, some have improved, and new options have emerged. Here's an honest 2026 comparison.

CamelCamelCamel

What it does well: Amazon price history. It's been tracking Amazon prices since 2008 and has by far the deepest historical database. The charts are clear and the data is reliable.

What it doesn't do: Walmart, eBay, or any non-Amazon retailer. If you only buy on Amazon and primarily care about historical data over long periods, CamelCamelCamel is excellent.

Alert system: Works reliably. Set a target price, get an email when it's hit. Simple.

Cost: Free

Best for: Amazon-only shoppers who want deep price history and reliable alerts.

Honey (PayPal)

What it does well: Browser extension that applies coupon codes at checkout. Genuinely useful for finding discount codes you'd otherwise miss.

What it doesn't do well (anymore): Price comparison. After the PayPal acquisition in 2020, Honey's price comparison features deteriorated. The primary focus is now coupon codes and PayPal rewards, not price tracking.

Price alerts: Technically available but unreliable. Several users report missed alerts.

Cost: Free (browser extension)

Best for: Catching coupon codes at checkout. Not recommended as a primary price tracker.

Keepa

What it does well: The most detailed Amazon price tracking available. Shows not just current price and Amazon price, but also third-party seller prices, sales rank, availability, and more. The browser extension embeds price charts directly into Amazon product pages.

What it doesn't do: Walmart or eBay. Amazon-only.

Cost: Free tier is very limited (10 product requests per minute, limited history). Paid tier is $19/month for full features.

Best for: Amazon power users and resellers who need granular data and are willing to pay for it.

BestPriceFinder

What it does well: Multi-retailer price comparison (Amazon + Walmart + eBay) in one interface. Tracks products across all three retailers simultaneously. Price history charts for all three.

What it doesn't do yet: Target, Best Buy (coming in paid tier). Price history depth is limited compared to CamelCamelCamel for established products.

Alert system: Email alerts on the free tier. SMS and browser push on Pro.

Cost: Free (5 product tracks). Pro tier at $9.99/month for unlimited tracking.

Best for: Shoppers who compare across multiple retailers and want one tool instead of three.

The Honest Recommendation

Use CamelCamelCamel if you only buy on Amazon and want the deepest historical data. It's been doing one thing well for 15+ years.

Use BestPriceFinder if you shop across Amazon, Walmart, and eBay and want a single comparison tool with alerts.

Use Keepa if you're a serious Amazon buyer or reseller who needs granular data and can justify $19/month.

Skip Honey as a price tracker - use it only for its original purpose (coupon codes at checkout).
